In Memory Of
Sue Kai
Sue Kai always told her children that she did not want to be a burden in her old age. When it became the time to enter a long term care home, the Kai family chose Yee Hong as its only choice since it had a very good reputation for quality care and compassionate service.
Sue entered Yee Hong as a resident in 2005 after treatment for cancer. The staff treated her well and Sue eventually was declared cancer free and she became adapted to her new life. Sue’s engaging personality, her fluency in English and Japanese made her a valuable resource for Yee Hong. All the while Sue was extremely interested in helping new residents to become familiar with their new Yee Hong home.
The Kai family greatly appreciates the 17.5 years that Sue lived at Yee Hong to become their unofficial ambassador on television, radio, print media, and to federal, provincial, and municipal political leaders including the prime minister, premier and mayor. Sue’s second home gained a valuable resident and she in turn was given a special task in helping her fellow residents for which she was very well qualified and which she loved.
The Kai family will always have a special affection for the Yee Hong organization.
