A hero is a person who is admired for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. At Yee Hong, there are many such heroes who go beyond the call of duty to sacrifice their time and energy for others during COVID-19. Here are their stories.
The temporary closure of non-essential services due to COVID-19 affected hair salons at Yee Hong Centres. Residents have not been able to get haircuts for six weeks. Jane Liu, a PSW on the fourth floor of the Scarborough Finch Centre, came to the rescue. Since she is also very good at cutting hair, she offered to cut hair before and after her shift, not only for residents on the fourth floor but other floors as well.
“Our residents like being neat and tidy,” Jane says. “I am happy to help if it makes them happy.”
